Lodore House is situated in the unspoilt Borrowdale Valley
just three miles from the picturesque market town of Keswick,
close to the shores of Derwentwater. There is so much to see
and do in this area of the Lake District National Park and
you can even enjoy breathtaking scenery from the house itself
with views towards Catbells and Derwentwater. Just one mile
from the hotel you will find the view point at Ashness Bridge.
For keen walkers the Borrowdale Valley has to be an ideal
location. It is conveniently situated to climb many of the
classic mountains including Great Gable, Skiddaw, Catbells,
Glaramara and Scafell Pike - the highest summit in England.
Within easy reach of the house you can take a trip round Derwentwater
on the Keswick launch, enjoy a film or concert at the Theatre
by the Lake, or perhaps visit the impressive prehistoric monument
of Castlerigg Stone Circle. There is also a good selection
of visitor attractions closeby, these include Honistor Slate
Mine - the last working slate mine in England, Mirehouse Historic
House & Gardens, Cars of the Stars Motor Museum, the Cumberland
Pencil Museum and Trotters
World of Animals.
